Cost is $30/per person for all 5 days

Come ride with us! Join one of the Pacific Sport Instructors for a week of road safety, trail riding, getting wet, games and having fun. All levels of rider are welcome! A helmet is required. If your child does not have a bike, no worries! We will work to provide one for them.  Ideally a campers bike will have multiple gears for those Nanaimo hills.  We recommended kids bring a snack and water.

Congratulations to Selkirk Thompson who is this month’s North Island IGNITE athlete.  Selkirk is a very dedicated athlete who attends every training sessions, works hard each and every day, and is very focused on becoming a stronger athlete. He has a wonderful positive attitude and is always encouraging to his training partners.  His technique and strength has greatly improved over the past 2 years, and he is looking stronger each and every day while playing soccer.  Congratulations Selkirk.

This evening will feature a panel of Nanaimo's high performing student and alumni.  This unique workshop will provide conversations surrounding one of the biggest decisions that people make in the early adult life.  How do you plan and prepare?  How do you consistently give an optimum athletic performance while achieving your academic goals?

Also in attendance will be Mental Performance consultants, varsity coaches and members from a university athletic department

High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development

This one-day training will help front-line leaders (anyone working with children aged 6 to 12 – i.e. camp counsellor, coaches, swim instructors) improve the quality of programs. It provides in depth training in the HIGH FIVE Principles of healthy child development so front-line leaders understand what they need to do to ensure each child’s social, emotional and cognitive needs are met. Leaders learn activities and gain knowledge, tips and resources to enhance their programs as well as their relationships with children and other staff members.

The Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) of throwing, catching, jumping, striking, running, kicking, agility, and balance and coordination, form the basis for future sport skill development and for the life-long enjoyment of physical activity. Learn how to OBSERVE and IMPROVE the fundamental movement skills through the format best suited to you and your line of work. Upon completion of the workshop.
