Doug is a long-time PacificSport Vancouver Island Board Member, and in 2019 became the society's Treasurer.

Doug is the principal of Coal Tyee Elementary School and has worked in many School District #68 schools to deliver physical and health education to thousands of children over the course of his career.

Sue is a long-time member of the PacificSport Vancouver Island Board of Directors, having acted as Chair and Director-At-Large over the course of her ternure. She is a former Canadian Olympian, and currently works as an Occupational Therapist.

General Manager

General Manager

Catharine is PacificSport VI’s General Manager and has worked with the organization for over 15 years. She champions Physical Literacy Training and Development for Teachers, Coaches, and Recreation Professionals, and has been involved with coaching for the majority of her life. Catharine also oversees PacificSport VI’s Multi-Sport Programs for children aged 4-12, PacificSport WheelKids, as well as the After School Programs offered in primary and intermediate schools across the district.

Athlete & Coach Services Coordinator

Kevin is PacificSport VI’s Athlete and Coach Services Coordinator, providing athletes and coaches with benefits and services through regional initiatives and partnerships. He creates and administers educational opportunities for Vancouver Island athletes and coaches and oversaw the IGNITE Athlete Development program.

 

Special Projects & Mental Performance Consultant

Special Projects & Mental Performance Consultant

Geoff is PacificSport VI’s Mental Performance Consultant and Special Projects Coordinator. He assists with programming for athlete development and physical literacy; leads planning for community events, and works with athletes and coaches across Vancouver Island as a Mental Performance Consultant.

Geoff has a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from the University of Windsor and recently earned professional designation with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.

Spirit of Sandra Junior Curling Scholarships

Spirit of Sandra Junior Curling Scholarships are funded through crowd sweeps at Season of Champion Events. These scholarships are intended for young athletes who participate in curling in their graduating year from high school or while pursuing a post-secondary education on a full-time basis. The Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students entering a post-secondary institution and to students in their first or second year in a post-secondary institution. Recipients must be under the age of 21 years as of March 31st in the year in which they apply.

PacificSport Vancouver Island and Woodgrove Pines Clinic are pleased offer our registered athletes the opportunity to apply for one of four (4) Athlete Bursaries at $500 each.  The athlete must be a registered PacificSport Athletes to apply.

SAVE THE DATE:  Cheques will be handed out to the recipients on Monday May 28th at 4pm. Bursary recipients will also receive complimentary concussion baseline tests which will be carried out May 28th from 4pm-5:30pm.
