Our XploreSportz Spring Break Camps offer kids the opportunity to explore a variety of sports all week long. There are opportunities to play traditional sports such as soccer or football but kids will also experience new sport activies such as synchronized swimming and yoga. These camps are a great way to introduce your child to sports in a friendly, safe and fun environment. All facilitators are qualified coaches and deliver top-notch experiences.

Zoe Garlinski-Gonsky  |  Sport: Waterskiing
Zoe is a North Island IGNITE Athlete, incredibly goal orientated which she proved this at the BC Summer Games culminating in several podium finishes.  Intrinsically motivated, Zoe demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and is a role model for the younger athletes with regards to work ethic, motivation and coachability.  Zoe is always respectful to her peers, coaches and is a great example of a fantastic IGNITE athlete!

Winnipeg, Manitoba will host the Canada Summer Games July 28 – August 13, 2017. Featuring 16 sports, over 250 events and a major cultural festival, the 2017 Canada Games will welcome over 4,000 athletes and coaches and more than 20,000 visitors.

PacificSport Disburses $12,000 to Vancouver Island Athletes

May 5, 2016 (Nanaimo):  20 of Vancouver Island’s high performance athletes received over $12,000 in bursaries; including $10,000 from PacificSport and an additional $2,000 from Woodgrove Pines Clinic, at a ceremony on Thursday May 5, 2016 at Oliver Woods Community Centre in Nanaimo.

Jack is a long-time Director with the PacificSport Vancouver Island Board, and as a lifelong sports enthusiast, believes that participation and involvement in all aspects of sport makes a valuable contribution to personal and community growth.

Over the years, Jack has coached and coordinated hockey and baseball, and has served on the Minor Hockey Association board and the summer swim club’s “Pool Operations Committee”. He also has several years of active involvement with non-profit society boards, and a for-profit board.

Jim is a long-serving Director with the PacificSport Vancouver Island board, following a successful 35-year career at the British Columbia Institute of Technology where he served as the Director of Student Services, and Director of Recreation & Athletic Services.

Sue is a long-time member of the PacificSport Vancouver Island Board of Directors, having acted as Chair and Director-At-Large over the course of her ternure. She is a former Canadian Olympian, and currently works as an Occupational Therapist focused on pain management  

Sue has had an extensive career as a member of the Canadian field hockey squad, having represented Canada in many international tournaments including the Olympic Games, World Cup, Pan American Games, and Olympic Qualifier.

Catharine is PacificSport VI’s Executive Director and has worked with the organization for over 15 years. She champions Physical Literacy Training and Development for Teachers, Coaches, and Recreation Professionals, and has been involved with coaching for the majority of her life. Catharine also oversees PacificSport VI’s Multi-Sport Programs for children aged 4-12, PacificSport WheelKids, as well as the After School Programs offered in primary and intermediate schools across the district.
