Mindset X's and O's: Mental Game Plan for Coaches | February 27, 2021 | 9:00am-1:00pm
- Cost: $30
- Location: Online Zoom Delivery
Developing mental skills with your athletes is an important process. The coach plays a huge role in supporting athletes through the mental barriers they face when training and competing. This workshop will outline strategies for coaches to incorporate specific mental skills related to goal setting, focus strategies, and intensity management into their coaching practice. The goal of this workshop is to provide coaches with applied knowledge in how to connect with their athletes in these areas of mental performance.
Coaches will be organized into groups from similar sports (team sport vs individual sport vs racing sports vs subjective sports). The workshop will be facilitated to provide opportunities to brainstorm and identify key mental components of their sport, apply specific activities to address these mental performance areas, and outline the delivery of these skills with their athletes.
This workshop is intended to provide an opportunity to apply the education from the NCCP workshops (Basic Mental Skills and Psychology of Performance) as well offer an interactive environment to learn from other coaches in applying mental skills to their sport. There is no prerequisite to this course.
Facilitators: Geoff Hackett & Kevin Lindo
