A FUNdamental wheeling skills program for kids with locomotor disabilities aged 5-12!
PacificSport Vancouver Island is excited to deliver PacificSport WheelKids in communities across Vancouver Island as part of the PacificSport Wheelkids expansion project. PacificSport Wheelkids is an exciting physical literacy program for kids aged 5-12. Before kids learn to play “traditional” sports such as basketball or rugby, they must first learn how to maneuver their chairs, how to throw, how to catch, and how to rely on their teammates.
Through active games and play, our PacificSport WheelKids program provides FUNdamental movement skills in a safe, fun, and encouraging environment for all kids. In addition to learning valuable fundamental wheeling skills, kids will also take part in sports such as basketball, tennis, rugby, track and field throughout the eight weeks!
Participants may register alone, or may invite siblings or a close friend to register as well to share in the fun! Parents are encouraged to participate as well! All participants (wheelchair-user or not) are required to register for the sessions individually.
