Join us for our annual #ThanksCoach Event and Coaches Panel as we explore An Amateur Sport Story – What is Possible?
For close to 40 years an incredible amateur sport story has unfolded on Vancouver Island that needs to be told. It is a story that can help us as coaches, athletes, administrators and supporters to understand the power of sport in human and community development and what is really important and what is really possible. Three members of the Alberni Valley Wrestling Club with take us through the establishment of their program, its founding values and guiding principles, its development of rich traditions and a strong culture and the importance of a shared coaching philosophy and vision. They will share the critical and complimentary aspects of grassroots and high performance development from kids and high school programs to national and international experience including the Olympic Games. It is a story of dreams, goals and action and an uplifting journey relevant for all sports and coaches.
