- TREASURER
Doug is a long-time PacificSport Vancouver Island Board Member, and in 2019 became the society’s Treasurer.
Doug has been an educator for School District #68 for 30 years and his most recent role was elementary principal of Coal Tyee Elementary School. Doug has been a teacher or administrator at many schools in Nanaimo and focussed on delivering physical and health education to thousands of children over the course of his career. In the fall of 2020, Doug will be retiring from the education profession and will be transitioning to his new role as a Mortgage Specialist with Dominion Lending Centres – West Isle Mortgages.
Doug’s educational experience includes both a Bachelors and Masters of Education from Malaspina University-College and the University of San Diego and UBC Sauder School of Business Mortgage Broker Certification.
Doug has played many community sports including baseball, soccer and rugby, and has volunteered as a coach for NDLA and NYSC. Doug current interst include golfing, hiking and Mountain Biking.
