In Teaching and Learning, you will learn to:

  • assess your own beliefs regarding effective teaching;
  • analyze certain coaching situations to determine if they promote learning;
  • create conditions that promote learning and self-esteem through:
  • appropriate consideration of the affective, cognitive and motor dimensions of learning;
    • the use of words and methods that relate to an athlete’s preferred learning style;
    • a sound organization;
    • active supervision; and
    • the use of well-formulated feedback offered at the right time and with the right frequency.

Sunday February 23rd – NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program Workshop – IN-PERSON – $90 https://forms.office.com/r/fA3uBbbZ4h

After completing the NCCP Design a Basic Sport Program module, you will be able to: 

  • develop a program structure based on opportunities for training and competition;
  • establish indicators of athlete development in the program; and
  • develop practice plans that reflect seasonal training priorities.

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Fundamental Movement Skills Workshop, provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental movement skills and the core-competencies of the NCCP, with the help of numerous hands-on activities. 

In developing and teaching a child, we break down simple skills into key components to help the child learn and understand. Given the opportunity to learn a wide range of physical skills, children acquire the basic building blocks for the competence, confidence and motivation to try many physical activities and sports.​​​


Sunday March 2nd – NCCP Making Ethical Decisions (MED) IN-PERSON – $115 https://forms.office.com/r/YsUGSWqeFS

The National Coaching Certification (NCCP) offers coaches the opportunity for training and evaluation in ethical decision-making through the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training, and online evaluation. By successfully completing the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training, coaches will be fully equipped to handle ethical situations with confidence and surety. 

The training helps coaches identify the legal, ethical, and moral implications of difficult situations that present themselves in the world of team and individual sport.
